It had been drizzling most of the morning and for the three bands 6, 8 and 10 piece advertised 'Outside' on Poole Quay that's where we had to go as both venues were to small to cope with the number of Scooterists that turned up from across the south, out of respect to the 'traveled' cancellation was not an option. This day was for Teenage Cancer Trust a little bit of rain wasn't going spoil our fund raise!
Time was now against us for getting another two bands on before our 5pm Council deadline so in agreement Sound Of The Suburbs band were courteous enough to give up their spot to Orange Street as they were the 'headline' and we could play another time. When the band did manage to start the weather had just taken a turn for the worst and unfortunately water got into the PA equipment thankfully not damaging anything of importance but stopping the band in their tracks. This was unbeknownst to myself as it had now been agreed the sos band should try and play after all when OS had finished at 5pm through my unsuitable and hastily relocated DJ gear. The show must go on I say been there and done it many times before! Many apologises to those who came down just to see Orange Street WE were beaten by the weather 100%. Trying to please all that day was not an easy job if it had been the day before or after it would have been a blinder!!!!! Walk in the (dry) park even! We raised a nice amount in our soggy buckets for Teenage Cancer Trust and that was why we were there, although one person on facebook forgot! More apologises for those hoping to buy merchandise for The Specialized Album that too was out of my hands as to why it wasn't delivered, please click on the link below. All in all a great day was had with many a smiling face the weather didn't get us down to much if it did they went home! Thank you all that came and participated...Til the next time! 'Special' thanks to Absolute music for kindly donating the drum kit for all to use. Specialized Album |
